Aulavik National Park Management Plan - Parks Canada would like your input
Parks Canada is currently updating the management plan for Aulavik National Park and would like you to participate. Your voice matters!
With input from Inuvialuit co-operative management partners, local residents, stakeholders and the broader Canadian public, Parks Canada is developing a new management plan for Aulavik National Park of Canada. The new management plan for Aulavik will outline the long-term vision and the strategic direction for the next five to ten years to:
- Enhance the connection of all Canadians to the natural and cultural heritage of Aulavik.
- Enhance visitor opportunities in the park, linking them to other potential visitor opportunities on Banks Island, toward helping to improve tourism and economic development for Sachs Harbour;
- Manage for the maintenance or restoration of ecological integrity of Aulavik and the care of its natural, cultural and paleontological resources.
The new park management plan is scheduled to be completed by fall 2011.
