Volunteer Opportunities with CPAWS-NWT

Calling all volunteers! CPAWS-NWT is in need of volunteers to lead two of our annual projects this year. These are fun and rewarding projects, and both come with perks!

Folk on the Rocks Booth Lead

The volunteer lead will work with CPAWS-NWT staff to host a booth at Folk on the Rocks that provides conservation information outreach materials to the public. Merchandise is also sold to fundraise for our chapter.

This volunteer position requires: attention to detail, some experience organizing events, either a working knowledge of or a willingness to learn about conservation issues in the NWT, and an ability to organize a small crew of volunteers that will work well with you to deliver a successful booth!

Perk: Free Weekend Pass to Folk on the Rocks

Estimated time commitment: 15-20 hours, including training with CPAWS-NWT staff and being at the booth at Folk 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, and Sunday, July 16.

Love the Land Photo Contest & 2018 Calendar Lead

Starting the end of May you will organize, promote, and advertise our photo contest, then lead the creation of our annual fundraising calendar at the conclusion of the contest in September. 

This volunteer position requires: excellent organizational skills (sorting photos, keeping track of entrants, organizing judging of photos, finding prizes, etc.), working within deadlines, and experience with graphic design (Adobe Illustrator preferred). CPAWS-NWT staff will collaborate with the volunteer lead to ensure their success.

Perk: Recognition in the 2018 Love the Land calendar and a few calendars for free.

Estimated time commitment: Roughly 40-50 hours spread from late May to mid October.
